the mushrooms made me do it
by admin - January 17th, 2011Just what the world needs. Another blog. About food.
But with bags and bags (and bags, to gild the lily) of chanterelles coming into our kitchen (and who can, really, complain about that?) I just can’t help myself: wild mushroom panade, wild mushroom and spinach lasagna, chanterelle and wine bean soup, chanterelles with eggs, chanterelles with toast, overnighting chanterelles to friends on the East Coast. It’s gotten a bit insane.
So, in meaning to start a rambling sort of conversation about forays into the forest and other nice things about living in Napa Valley, and to share a bit of my book, Seasons in the Wine Country: Recipes from The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, here I am. At last. Blogging. We’ll see how it goes.
For now, here’s some photos of our forest booty, gathered by husband Michael:
And in following posts, I’ll share some of the recipes we’ve been making.
